Where an opening isn't secure the glass is cleared out of the frame and it's boarded properly, so the property is sound while the replacement is made up.
Fitted, and the frame stays
In the great majority of jobs the window, the hinges and the handles stay exactly where they are and only the glass changes. Nothing to make good afterwards.

A lot of Cannock was built at once, and it shows in the glass
Cannock and Hednesford grew around the Cannock Chase coalfield, and a great deal of the housing went up in the post-war decades to house mining families. That's useful to know as a glazier: estate housing built in one go tends to have standardised window openings, so sizes repeat from one house to the next and a replacement unit is a simple job. Those windows have also mostly had one round of uPVC replacement by now — typically 1990s or early 2000s — which puts them squarely in the age bracket where sealed units start to fail.
Misted double glazing
If a window has gone cloudy or foggy on the inside, the unit has blown. It isn't dirt and it won't clean off. We measure the failed unit, make up new glass to match and fit it into the frame you've already got.
Emergency glass and boarding up
Broken glass gets made safe first. If a pane can't be replaced there and then we'll board it, and come back with the glass once it's made up.
Windows and doors that have stopped working properly
Hinges and friction stays wear, door mechanisms drop out of line, and the rubber seals go hard and stop sealing. All of it is fixable without replacing the frame, and it's usually what's behind a draught or a door you have to lean on.

Is Cannock too far out for you?
Not at all — it's a short run up from where we're based and we're over that way often.
My whole estate has the same windows. Does that help?
It does. Where openings repeat, measuring is quicker and there are no surprises. If neighbours are having the same problem it's often worth sorting them together.
